> Likhtam is a double-entry accounting app for small businesses: GST/VAT billing, inventory, expense tracking, loan/EMI management and multi-company support, offline-first with optional cloud sync and on-device encryption of sensitive fields.

## Key facts

- Pricing: Free forever (single business, single device, no credit card) or Pro at ₹1,499/year (7-day free trial, no credit card).
- Platforms: Android app (Google Play), with a web app in progress.
- Offline-first: all data is stored on-device by default; cloud sync is optional and available on Pro.
- Security: sensitive fields (GSTIN/VAT number, bank details, party contact info) are encrypted on the device before they reach the cloud, using a key derived from the user's password plus a one-time recovery phrase. Other business data (invoices, line items, reports) is stored on Likhtam's cloud infrastructure encrypted in transit and at rest, but is not end-to-end/zero-knowledge encrypted.
- Tax systems supported: GST (India), and VAT for UK, UAE, Australia, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bahrain and Oman.
- Core modules: sales & purchase invoicing, inventory management, manufacturing/BOM with waste tracking, expense tracking with budgets, loan & EMI tracking with automated reminders, customer & supplier ledgers, cash & bank accounts, and reports (Profit & Loss, Trial Balance, Cash Flow, Stock).
- Team access (Pro): up to 3 companies per account, each company can have one assigned teammate besides the owner, with Read Only or Write access.
- Invoice designs: 11 total, 2 free and 9 on Pro, exportable as PDF, Excel or image.
- Built-in data integrity audit: a one-tap check that compares stored balances and stock figures against the underlying ledger entries and flags/fixes mismatches.
